Take into account their ceiling and the chance they have to reach that ceiling. Which prospect do you want on your team?
P.S. I didn't put this in the comparisons thread, because this part of the forum is so desolate and lonely![]()
Michael Stanton
Jesus Montero
Jason Heyward

they are different types of hitters. Jesus is more of a player that will hit for average while stanton has shown some of the highest power potential we have seen for a young prospect in a long time.
Both are 19 years old, both play Premium positions (CF and C).
I guess it comes down to do you want a 5 tool 40+ homerun hitting CF? Or do you want a very high potential hitting Catcher?
In the end I think it comes down to which one can stay at their position for developement. CAn Jesus stay as a catcher? I have read many things for him being able to and read many things of him not. I keep hearing victor martinez as a comparison with him which any team would take. Stanton I keep hearing the comparison of Dave Winfield because he has such raw talent (3 sport athlete was going to USC before signing with the fish).
Here are the numbers on both of them.

most likely they both will be top 5 prospects with Heyward and Bum.

I'd love to have any of these guys, but I'll go with Montero. Stud power-hitting catchers are far more rare than power-hitting outfielders.
"We're snakebitten, baby." --Fred Wilpon
From most reports he seems like he most likely will be a first baseman. He didnt look too bad when I saw him but still I guess we shall see. I am hoping he will make it as a catcher as a yankee fan side of me
Overall Heyward has the best chance of the 3 of them to become his projections. He could easily become a future stud in right field.
Stanton has the best power potential player I have been reading and seeing alot of projections of a possible andre dawson comparisions.
Montero who knows what he becomes but perhaps high end would be the current yankee of Posada would be a good comparison or martinez for the indians.
stanton has the biggest chance to fade followed by montero (position change specially), where heyward is the most sure thing.

I'd take Heyward. Like Fishfan said, he's the closest thing to a sure thing. Then Stanton, and then Montero. All 3 of these should be studs in the MLB for a long time
Jason Heyward.. He's a 5 tool player.

I would take Jason Heyward.
But I belive all 3 will be very good MLB players.
I just have some worry about Montero and if he will stay as a catcher.
hey joba
1. Jhay
2. Montero
3. the bum
heyward
Jackie Bradley Junior.... that is all
heyward with stanton really close
lol. Based on what? I love when fans call prospects, especially ones with unbelievable raw talent like Stanton, "bums."
39 homers in the minors last season at a .293/.381/.992 clip and 22 so far this season at a .271/.359/.893 clip.
Oh, and he's only 19 years old.
Yeah; he's a bum alright.![]()

Dp
Almost 1.000 OPS
And his OBP is almost 400.
Which means .600 SLG
Stanton is a monster.
Heyward, Stanton, Montero for me. Though I hope Stanton turns out the best because he is in my farm for my fantasy league![]()
