I don't know that I would consider either of them (Kemp or Ethier) untouchable. If I had to get rid of one, it would be Ethier. Kemp may look foolish at the plate more often than I'd like, but he at least plays great defense. Ethier seems equally average as a hitter and defender.

For once, I agree with you.

To me, Kemp just seems to have a higher ceiling, like he might be a superstar someday. Ethier has already exceded my expectations.

I just don't see it. As it is, Kemp's all around better than Ethier when Manny ain't around. Remember, Ethier really only became a superb player when batting near Manny. Kemp really hasn't had that benefit yet.

Do you think Ethier's gonna improve? I can't imagine Kemp not improving, although his 4HRs in 2 months concern me.

Why? Sure Kemp has hit some long HRs but he's not power hitter, the kid is not a slugger( only 4 HR). I can only go with what my eyes see. Kemp hits a lot of 8 hoppers that find a hole, soft liners, but I just dont see enough ABs where the ball is just jumping off his bat. Btw, didn't Kemp go like 2wks without an RBI???
I've said it before...Ethier is better.

The stats are very close, but Kemp's got him beat by...
    +39 BA
    +34 SLG
    +28 OPS
    10 hits
    6 Stolen Bases
    4 triples!
    11 Total bases

He's only 2 RBIs behind, yet bats 7th all year.

And is obviously a better outfielder
