Does anyone have a list of free agents and who are possible targets? I have never really followed hockey until now, but despitte missing the playoffs, I have become very intrigued with the team n its offseason.
Well, lots of guys. Mainly forwards. Martin Havlat has been mentioned because he played with our GM Jaques Martin. I can find you a list, but it is too early to say now
Florida needs a dynamic scorer something more then a Havlat who is very inconsistant. Even if the cats lose Bouwmeester they still have good depth at forward. I am hoping that Mathais can ump in and play top minutes next year
Bo will be a huge loss but i think keaton ellerby will come up and be a solid defenseman. what we need is a prime time scorer and some help for weiss in the faceoff circle. havlat would be a good fit as a forward but more help would still be needed. how about a hossa or even gaborik.
I have not heard anything about gaborik in regards to florida but he is a player that has interested me for a few years now. He fits the bill as a prime time scorer and hopefully due to his injury his asking price wont be too much and our management would finally step up. I also think looking at someone like bill guerin who is a proven vet in the league would be a good guy to have around in the locker room and on the ice.
I think Guerin would have to play with another speedy Centerman who can score and let him be the second thought on the line, Someone like a Boooooooth. I think you put booth, Guerin and a guy like Ville who can get both of them the puck in the right spots on a line and you could see some major production from that line maybe a 40+ goal season for booth. A Lot of my adding Guerin in the mix has to do with his ability to work with young players and make them better. Look at Crosby He was great before Guerin but since the deadline he has been in a different world from everyone else (Ovechkin included). I'd like to see him do that with booth and turn him into the scorer he looks like he could be.
