    Here is the question of the day, does anyone think that wealthy people should pay a lower percentage of their income to taxes than middle class people? Don't argue tax brackets, just a simple question. Do you think someone earning 46 million dollars should pay a lower percentage of their income than say someone earning sixty thousand?

    But doesn't it raise the reverse question. Can we get the same amount of coverage of police and fire, via a private companies bidding against each other for the contract. I know many municipalities are going private on the refuse side.

    I agree that there are municipalities that have gone private on the pick up of refuse, but, the real question is do you want to go back to private fire departments? Do you want to go back to private police departments?

    The point is not about picking off a point, it is about the broader point that there are many government services that we all use and we all would not want replaced by private industry. We live in a mixed economic system (which is the real point) and we really would not want it any other way.

    The cry of "SOCIALISM' is just so much felgerkarb. We do not now nor have we who are actually reading this ever lived in a pure free market system, and we would not want to.
