Pudge: Expects to sign with Mets, Astros, or Marlins

    http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2009/0...teams-tar.html

The Mets could be the darkhorse here. They haven't been vocal with their interest in Pudge this offseason, but he would work well in a platoon with Brian Schneider. Of course, the Mets would probably then want to move Ramon Castro.

Why move Castro for Pudge? Castro has more upside being he's younger. What upside does Pudge have?

Forget Pudge... let's just start playing ball already.

Unless Castro can get a a real nice Righty bat off the bench or for the line up. I think you would judge this move by what we get for Castro and not what Pudge brings to the team.

I hope that Livan doesn't start a string of old player signings. They need to keep it young, so no need for Pudge.

manny ramirez expected a 4 year deal. a-rod expected to get away with roids. i expected the mets not to collapse for a second year.

    doesnt mean its gonna happen.

and he physically lives well because of the mets

I would like for us to keep pudge off the team, only because I would like for us to trade for V martinez at the deadline

but if pudge is cheap he makes sense.... we shouldnt trade Castro though... pudge is a ?

well, if we did sign pudge that would make our bench alot better seeing as castro could be used more as a pinch hitter then.

Is there any reason why you think that Martinez will be available?

    Martinez

He is a possibility since he's a FA next year. The guy can certainly hit but would be better as a replacemnt for Delgado then as a catcher. He might be the worst defensive catcher on the planet. He has played an OK 1B for Cleveland so this might make sense since there aren't any 1B options in next years FA class.
