Man this really blows. We are gonna lose the Winter Classic just 3 days after losing the World Series. It's like being kicked in the balls repeatedly.

Its bad enough the Tigers get swept but to take away the Winter Classic, like you said in an earlier post LFLOL its like kicking the city of Detroit and the state of Michigan in the balls. I hope they give it to us next year if the owners and players can agree on a new CBA. If the league goes to a different city next year for the Winter Classic I call BS and Gary Bettman is an *******.

I was reading on rotoworld that the thought is we'd get it 2014. Obviously nothing is known yet but at least give us that. This really frustrates me because hockey was already struggling for attention after the last lockout, this one is gonna really do some major damage.

Darren Helm's injury after taking a puck to his face Friday morning during a workout in Troy, Mich., is more serious than first reported.
The Detroit forward fractured his cheekbone. He won't know if he needs surgery until seeing specialists today. A pass defleced off a stick and caught Helm flush on the face, forcing him to collapse to the ice. Helm skated off the ice and headed directly to a medical office. Helm missed time late last season with a knee injury, and missed the majority of the Red Wings' first-round loss to Nashville in the playoffs with a severed tendon in his left forearm.

Not sure if anyone's been following this but the GR Griffins have been on a royal tear, 8 in a row. Tatar, Gus and Jurco are just scoring machines.

Mrazek has been excellent as well. We might be in a similar situation to Vancouver's right now with Howard and Mrazek in the future.
