1. Bailing out of Kyoto
2. Torturing terror suspects
3. Bypassing the Supreme Court on defense and energy policy
4. Not pressuring Israel to reach a solution to the Palestinian conflict
5. No Child Left Behind
6. Building democracy in the Middle East and former USSR
7. Medicare part D
8. Roberts and Alito
9. Strengthening relations with the nice countries in Asia without alienating China
10. The surge

And no, I'm not twisting the words here. Read the article. Fred Barnes really thinks those are all great things as stated.

Quite frankly, I'm not exactly sure that #6 ever happened aside from our current attempt in Iraq (of course that and #10 are thus linked). And #9 seems a bit silly. As for the others...

for a republican, sometimes you have to judge a president sometimes by what they didn't do...i.e. don't raise taxes, dont put in more regulations, etc. Im not trying to defend bush, but republicans arent as hands on as democrats... at least when it comes to the economy.

I seem to remember the GOP voting for TARP. I also remember hearing that we have a responsibility to clean up Iraq now that we're there -- and that's the reason we needed to stay.

Republicans have been incredibly hands-on. Their ideology may state otherwise, but ideology and action haven't matched.

i agree, but TARP was a special instance where it was critical that government interviene

yea some of them i guess. could you imagine if 9/11 didnt happen? No afgan, no iraq (probably), no gitmo, PATRIOT Act, etc. Things would have so different.
