Question Vintage PSD hockey thread: Canucks fishing for a netminder?

It looks like Alex Auld isn't ready for that #1 spot (yet) , and with no prospects ready to make the jump to the big league the Canucks are going to have to shore up the back line somehow. With Ed jovonovski looking for a new contract next year, and rumours of his tendency to head back to a warmer climate it might be time to deal the big blueliner. Luongo is getting a bum rap in Florida , playing behind a lacklustre defense and it would be a great improvement for both teams. Cloutier has been injury riddled from the start and though he shows signs of being a great goalie, he seems to deflate when the pressure is on. Time to shake up the team a bit.Jovonovski to Florida for Luongo and a couple of draft picks , keep Alex Auld as the #2 and get ready to dish Cloutier in early 2006/2007.

Theres no way you get Luongo AND draft picks for Jovanovski. You might need to trade Jovanovski and some picks along with a young guy to get Luongo.

I've heard Bertuzzi for Theodore. Sounds pretty fair to me, but Jose has been real inconsistent this year.

Pretty ancient history huh? Surprised they're not saying that Kevin Weekes is the "goalie of the future".

Just j/k. I think the Kevin Weekes quote was from 2003. Brian Burke was the GM then and he left behind hundreds of great quotes. Now he's a Duck.
