Yeah don't do anything for as long as your doctor tells you not to do anything. The father-in-law had it done and he was out working in fields and now feels a whole lot worse than he was with the hernia.
I'm having surgery for a hernia in January. Any tips, advice, things to do before and after surgery?
Had a hernia surgery way back in the 60's. Back then, I was laid up in a hospital bed for five days, and home recovering for another five weeks. The first day home, I thought I would be smart and go meet my friends. Got less then a block and had to return home. Did make it out the next night, but it was extremely tiring. This tiring lasted about another two weeks.
But I'm guessing today, with much smaller incisions, that the after effects of the operation wont be a bad as mine.
Anyway good luck with your surgery and even more luck with the hospital food. That's one item that seems to have gotten worst as our medical care has improved.
So I had direct Inguinal hernia surgery Wed. Woke up this morning at 3:45 and my God, this **** hurt bad. My only friend is oxycodone right now and I'm sure I'm going to go insane if I have to stay in this bed for another day.
