Not really, defensive players have their own award, MOP is generally reserved for offensive players. The only thing that I can see that is worth complaining about is that they should rename the award Most Valuable Offensive Player so that people don't ***** when a defensive player doesn't win.

I agree that it is usually reserved for offensive players, and that it probably should be renamed. But damn 20 sacks? And you know half the time he was double teamed. Thats just incredible

This has happened quite a few times where a defensive player is dominant and doesn't get nominated. Thats just the way it is, the MOP isn't really for defensive players.
