Welcome to the Yankee forum.

Greetings all,

I'm a new fan - well, kind of a new fan.

My dad (born in 1930) was a lifelong Yankee fan. I was never a huge sports fan (I am legally blind and gym class was a horror, turning me off to team sports for the most part). I did watch the Yankees from 1977- 1980, though. The saddest moment for me during that time frame was the tragic death of Thurman Munson.

In April, i started watching baseball again, and actually watched a couple of Mets games as well as Yankees games while deciding which team to follow. I settled on the Yankees, and I have been enjoying the games, learning about the players, etc. I've read a couple of 2011 baseball magazines, and I am becoming familiar with some of the players on other teams as well. My dad is probably looking fown from Heavan wondering why it took me so long to really join the fold, but better late than never!

Anyway, that's my asory in brief. I may not post too much, but i look forward to reading a lot of great Yankee discussions!
