Ducks and Teemu Selanne have agreed to a pro tryout agreement

Teemu Selanne will not be in an Anaheim Ducks uniform when training camp starts on Friday.
Ducks GM Brian Burke will not sign Selanne while Anaheim is in the midst of salary cap problems as he doesn't want to exacerbate the problem. Burke tried to rid the Ducks of Mathieu Schneider's contract by putting him on waivers but no NHL team bit. "We're aware that other teams have talked to Teemu," Burke said. "I don't think Teemu is a fanatic about training camp anyway. I don't think he's screaming at (his agent Don) Baizley to get this deal done to get him into training camp." Apparently Baizley and Burke have talked contract but Burke will wait until he has the cap room for Selanne before attempting to sign him. Stay tuned. Selanne will average about a point a game in the regular season, the only question being is how many games he will play.

This will allow Selanne to be on the ice with the Ducks even though he's still not under contract. The Anaheim Ducks want to sign Selanne, but they are already over the NHL's $56.7 million cap for this season. Anaheim has been looking for ways to unload Mathieu Schneider's contract in an effort to solve this problem.
