Most talented decade for music?

I would say anywhere between the 50's and the 70's.
That is when music was born.

Doors
Beatles
Bob Dylan
Bob Marley
The Who
Ray Charles
The Temptations
Marvin Gaye
Cream
Black Sabbath
and tons more....

They were the pioneers of music as we know it. They came before mass production of crappy artist that will sell a ton of records now and never be heard of again.
Think about it many of the bands I named are long gone. But their music still goes on strong because of how great it is. Their music has transended though generations.
Now think of the music from the 80's - present that will be thought of as "new classics" in 20-30 years. I am not implying that it is all crap, I just don't see that many bands from the recent past that will be thought of as classics in twenty or thirty years.

Main songs i have on my Ipod are from the 50s-70's. Great artists like the creedence clearwater revival, the doors, The rolling stones, led zeppelin and the beatles. They allseemed to sing for something, their songs changed America.

Answering 2000's based on pop music would be stupid.

But seriously, the gear for making music has never been as cheap and accessible as in the modern computer age. So in the 2000's, most talent is definitely in use. I think there's a ton of great bands without deals and fame. And when it comes to electronic music and rap, the options to what to listen are endless. Of course most of it is crap, but surely there is good free music laying here and there.

The 70's, bar none, with the 60's a very close second, so much creativity and great music was made between these two decades, the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, the Rolling Stones, Deep Purple, Hendrix, Fleetwood Mac, Rush, CCR, Sabbath, Floyd, I can just go on and on, I have to say though that the late 60's, around '68 and the early 70's is when the best music was made, ever since John Bonham and John Lennon died in late 1980 popular music has, for the most part, become ****, the best music these days is underneath all that.
