SENATORS ACQUIRE SHANNON FROM VANCOUVER

The Ottawa Senators have acquired Ryan Shannon from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for Lawrence Nycholat.

The 25-year old Shannon recorded career-highs in goals (5) and points (13) in 27 games with Vancouver last season.

Nycholat, 29, was originally acquired from Washington last season. The native of Calgary appeared in 77 games for Ottawa's AHL affiliate, the Binghamton Senations in 2007-09.

Damn it Sbank, beat me to it. I just got home from practice.
But, I think a good deal. Murray was probably thinking that Picard could do what Nycholat does, but he's younger and quicker, with more upside. Shannon provides depth. Good deal for both sides.
