Russia democratized. They're just an illiberal democracy ... technically a semi federal presidential republic. They just don't really have free and open elections.

But, the United States will never be like China or Soviet (or modern) Russia. We could have uhc up the ying yang, and that still wouldn't make us a communist nation, nor a dictatorship.
Oh, and Obama will most certainly be elected. I think you're giving McCain a bit too much credit. But, I like the way you slipped that "Obama praised Chinese infrastructure" bit. But, lets expand that a bit. He was talking about what China had done for their infrastructure (ports, trains, airports) in regard to the Olympics. They have absolutely modernized these things to bring them in-line with the 21st Century. And, once they get a handle on them, it's going to make it much easier for them to do business with the rest of the world. But, way to skew it to show just how "red" Obama is.
