Joba needs to be a starter with all the talent we have coming up in the pen. Ian Kennedy will be a good end of the rotation pitcher in 2010. Trade Hughes for 2 minor leaguers in A ball that are raw with potential.
1B- Mark Teixera
2B- Robinson Cano
SS- Derek Jeter
3B- Alex Rodriguez
LF- Xavier Nady/Hideki Mastui
CF- Johnny Damon
RF- Raul Ibanez/Xavier Nady
DH- Jorge Posada
1. CC Sabathia
2. Chien Ming Wang
3. Joba Chamberlain
4. Mike Mussina
5. Andy Pettite
**** Joba in the pen, he can be an ace.
Man, that has to be one of the worst defensive OF in recent memory. Ibanez is a LFer, nothing more. Also, you are making Matsui one very expensive bench player, one that is capable of putting up very good stats when healthy.
What makes you think that Kennedy will be good? The fact that he has struggled in almost every chance he's gotten at the MLB level? I dont care how old the guy is, he doesnt have MLB starter stuff. Mopup reliever at best.
If cashman does what I proposed and also trades Matsui/Aceves for H. Ramirez, Griffey for prospects, and signs Bonds and Manny, this is what it would look like:
3b- Arod (greatest ever)
ss- H. Ramirez
c - Jeter/ Posada
cf- Griffey jr.
Jeter is smart and I think he can transition to Catching easily.
That would also keep all of our top prospects intact and we would have the best lineup in baseball. By far.
We should also sign CC and Sheets to sure up our rotation.
Championship no question.
hahaha wow....just wow. Im sorry, but
1. Jeter at Catcher????
2. 3 out of 9 of your "proposed" lineup are returning Yankees. Who the hell are the players your trading for Hanley, Pujols, and Ludwick?
3. Bonds wasnt signed this year when we desperetely needed offense, hes not coming next season
4. Jeter at Catcher????? haha im sorry, but I still cant believe it
I see u guys are taking my opinions as a joke. But im guessing none of you couldve came up with such creative ways to bring a championship team to the bx. I know for a fact I would be doing a much better job tha Cashwoman over there.
And like I said, the yankees should sign CC and sheets for the rotation. And maybe burnnet for insurance in case of injuries. If everybody is healthy, you can always go to a 6 man rotation.
And about the mets, they need to trade some of their pitching for a 2nd basement. Maybe they can trade for Jeff Kent.
