Lidstrom ... hands down. Easily the most valuable player of the Red Wings. He does so much stuff that doesn't show up on the stat sheets, and he rarely makes a mistake. He quarterbacks the powerplay and provides those really crisp outlet passes that allow Zet and Dats to do their jobs.
Or, it could be because Nicky is one of my all-time favorite Wings.

^nothing wrong with that sentiment either. lids is a favorite of mine too, but i don't know any red wings fans that wouldn't say that.
