Between K-ROD and his 37 saves, yes 37! and Mariano Rivera
i'd take mariano rivera every save opportunity. lidge has been garbage when it matters(2005)
It has to be K-Rod, I cant imagine anyone else having 37 saves so early...Lidge being close second, great pickup by Phillies

lidge is garbage just because he gave a that homerun to pujols and struggled last year? he just needed a change of scenery and now look, hes back to his old self
Lidge. Even though KRod is going to end up with 50+ saves, he gets a lot more save opprotunities. Pitching wise, Lidge is better.
Mo. "Nuff Said"
The only thing Krod has over Mo is saves. Its not that Mo doesnt pick up saves hes 23 for 23 in save oppurtunites, its just that he hasnt had as many oppurtunites. Other then that Mo leads K rod in every statistical category, K's, lower BAA( Moe has a .064 bAA!!!!), less walks, save percentage, ERA, WHIP.
*I only did this for Krod and Moe, because i already looked up the info the other day.
As much as i love Mariano and think he's still the best, i fear Papelbon. He does make stupid faces but there's no denying that he's an incredible closer.
And as for Rivera, last year when i was watching him pitch i was thinking to myself that he was on his way out, but with the way he's pitching this year, he seems like he's got another couple of years possibly, which is good because it's going to be hard for the Yankees to replace him.
no love for joe nathan???
the guy has lights out stuff
I would want him as my closer over any1 else in the game
1.Mo
2.K-rod
3.Lidge
4.Paps
5.Nathan

1. Rivera
2. Papelbon
3. K-Rod
4. Nathan
5. Ryan
As a Blue Jay fan, I get the "delight" of seeing Rivera several times a year. When he comes into the game, I know the game is over. I dont get that definite of a feeling with any other closer. The next closest would be Papelbon.
