$7.1m.. wow, I'm not gonna say thats a steal, but it is def. cheap. I was expecting him to get at least 8/year if not more. I cant believe this!!

I've been at med school all day, and I come home to read that we signed campbell and huet and are about to trade the bulin... I'm shocked! This is awesome!

I think we got him for less than maket value, the only thing that scares me is that its for 8 years. How old is he now?

So far after reading we signed Campbell and Huet and the rumored trade of Bulin almost complete makes me happy. Thats a pretty damn good first day of free agency.

On Chicago Tribune Live Dave Tallan said that they would play BOTH Huet and Bulin as sorta a duo to keep them both fresh.

6:57pm ET - Even though Hawks GM may have told TSN that he's going to keep Nikolai Khabibulin... he's probably unlikely to do so. He's been talking to some teams about dealing Khabby, with the Kings supposedly being one of them.

Just rumor but I can't see them keeping him either.

yea of course hes going to say that, he's not going to say that they want to trade him...

but in all reality, he will be gone by the start of camp. Hopefully we can get a young guy who can put the puck in the net.

he's only 29... plus, after he's 37 and the contract is up, he could still have another 8 good years left in the tank... apparently Dmen can play till they are 154 years old, DAMN YOU CHELIOS!!

I would imagine it will probably be nothing more then a salary dump, the other team gets a starting goalie who is only signed for 1 year, and we will shed salary and possibly get a draft pick or a young fourth line possibility.

Nice! Not thrilled about the contract, but the fact that we got hm is good

I wonder what we could get from the Kings. I know I'd do Bulin for Fischer in a heartbeat, who really is Rene Bourque but twice as good

Personally I would like to see Keith and Seabrook kept together and then put Campbell with either Wiz or Sopel. I think that Keith and Seabrook compliment each other quite well and that spreads out our speed and grit. Honestly anyway you put them we should be much improved.

At this point I wouldn't be suprised if it is a salary dump as mentioned above. I just can't see us keeping two goalies at the salaries that we are paying them. I would try to get a second or first round pick and then go from there.

I do like Seabrook and Keith, but Keith and Campbell would be a nice speedy pairing (both fast for D men)
