    Looking for a good HDTV...

Looking to purchase a 32" flat panel HDTV in the $500-$850 range

Anyone have any suggestions? Or recommend anything?

    Samsung 32" LCD

It shouldnt cost you more than 680.

That is the one I plan on getting.

    5000:1 contrast ratio

You think so? Are the reviews of this one good? I have heard bad things about Samsung as a TV manufacturer

If you look at refurbished sites, Samsung is the leader in items by FAR...

I'll check it out though... See what I think...

    Thanks for the input man...

    Anyone else have any suggestions?

Vizio = most bang for the buck.
Bought a 37" LCD around christmas for just over 500 bucks.
I think the picture quality is better than my brothers 42" Panasonic Plasma that he paid close to 1000 for.

Goto your local electronics store (best buy or even a wal mart) and take a look at the TVs. Compare the models and the LCD/Plasma and determine what picture quality you like the best.

This is good time to buy with prices coming down. I will be getting a marked down LG 32' with 5ms response time and 12,000 to 1 ratio for around $700.

I recommend waiting till Black Friday to get stuff like this, there's a lot of phenomenal deals that go on during that.

I would also stick with LCD's. My dad just got a 40' Sony LCD with 5000:1 contrast ratio (i think) for like 1200 bucks.

I bought an Olevia 32 inch LCD HDTV last summer. I got it for only $550 bucks because of a special offer from circuit city. I'm very happy with it so far.
