If Toronto Got An NFL Team, Could the CFL Survive?

Let's say the Buffalo Bills relocate to Toronto or Toronto gets an expansion team, could the CFL compete? If the CFL stayed, would it be overlooked by a Toronto NFL team? Curious what you guys think.

I think the die hards would still watch. But the casual fan would tune out, unless the Bills sucked hard.

I'm not sure on the numbers but its pretty popular. TSN signed a 5 year deal worth some major cash

it wouldnt necessarily close the CFL, but it would hurt it pretty bad.
NFL action and talent is just alot better.

No question in talent...But its a different game remember...Ricky Williams tore up the NFL and sucked in the CFL. As for NFL being more exciting than CFL, thats laughable.

Agreed, there is more talent in the NFL but I don't find it any more entertaining.

Could the CFL survive, yes it could easily. Would the CFL survive, thats debatable. Overall fan support wouldn't really change. Where the problem comes is that the Toronto Argos would probably fold or move to a different city. And while the CFL doesn't need the Argos to survive the people in Toronto think that they do (which includes the major tv networks). Without as big a tv deal and support the CFL would end up folding since the major sports networks concentrate more on Toronto than other places.

As far as the CFL loosing fans to the NFL because there is a team in Toronto, I don't see it happening. The NFL is very popular up here and there is plenty of exposure, virtually every game is televised up here. So other than maybe the Toronto area there would be no gain in popularity. There are 3 types of football fans in Canada; ones who watch the CFL only, ones who watch the NFL only, and those who watch both. Fans have already made their decisions and a team in Toronto won't change that. The media's support of the league is what could ruin it.
