Well if you want a really good blocker, Vernon. If you want a combination of being a TE and a blocker you go Carlson.

Carlson has done a lot better so i guess him, but if they were in the draft at the same time and i was looking at talent, I'd go for Davis.

Vernon's got the talent, but that doesn't prove ****. Carlson brings production.

You're obviously a moron and only go by stats if you say it's not even close. Do you have any comments other than that?

He also leads the Seahawks in rec. this year. He had to make plays, you had 8 WRs out in the beginning of the season.

    Vernon Davis:
-In 2006, he had Norv Turner, who likes using TEs, but Davis was a young rookie then and clearly not ready. He caught 20 passes, 3 for TDs, with an injury. (broken leg)

-In 2007, he had Hostler. Again: 50-something catches and 4 TDs is a minor miracle with that off-coor, that befuddled head coach and that QB situation. Mind you, the worst OC in NFL history.

-Now he has Martz, who isn’t a TE guy. Just not his system, which highlights all the things Davis can’t do as a receiver. For Martz, Davis’ best role is to block for Frank Gore, help keep our QB upright and to scare the defenses into over-reacting to his speed. (4 yard dash in 4.37)

    -2009 Pro Bowl alternate.

Jesus Vernon must be slow. It takes him more than 4 seconds to run the 4 yard dash?!?!

I went with Vernon David. Once he is in the right offensive system, he will shine.

im a Notre Dame fan so my choice was John Carlson, he really has great size and hands... Vernon Davis has freakish ability but really took a step back this year and hurt his stock.. is it all his fault? maybe not, but he needs to get himself more involved which includes making sure he becomes a reliable target for Qb's.

    RE-COUNT Vernon Davis vs Carlson

Carlson: leads the Seahawks in rec.

    -2009 Pro Bowl alternate.

Is it fair to say Carlson is better because he's rookie? Davis was a rookie but had a broken leg, and wasn't the 49ers only receiver healthy at the time.
