Yeah he could've gotten an invite but I'm not shocked he didn't. He was a real solid pick and great value. Lets hope he just continues to tear up the O.

    not really controversial...only to us...

McKegg is the only option in Erie and he is embracing it. I don't want to overhype him here but he did look good in preseason and is looking great right now in junior.

Lets see what he can do next year in the AHL hopefully but don't get your hopes up on this kid quite yet. He isn't a star. Matt Stajan put up pretty damn good junior numbers too. McKegg could be in his mold which would be a good value pick in the 3rd round.

If McKegg turns into Matt Stajan that would be great for us imo. That's great value in the 3rd round with today's scouting.

I just looked at their stats for the first time and man are they ever similar lol

    Stajan
    57 GP 9 G 18 A 27 PTS
    68 GP 33 G 52 A 85 PTS
    57 GP 34 G 60 A 94 PTS

    McKegg
    64 GP 8 G 10 A 18 PTS
    67 GP 37 G 48 A 85 PTS
    *68 GP 49 G 54 A 103 PTS

    *projected stats

Stajan had good junior numbers no doubt about that, but his game couldn't translate into being a top 6 player in the NHL (on a decent team). Take a look at Kadri's numbers and compare them to Stajan. Kind of scary.

    Stajan needs a longer stick.
So he can score from the press box.

Generally the top 5 scorers in each league get invited from my understanding but I may be wrong

More disappointing about Ross seeing is he made the camp originally, he would have looked nice on the fourth line for them. Oh well at least they made the camp and the WJs will still be great to watch as usual.

They seem to make cuts the same way every year. If there are multiple players from the same junior team and 1 of the 2 is struggling or 2 of the 3 they send them all home. I can see the logic in it in some ways.

I think burke has done a good job with shaping the marlies
he has brought in guys who could develop and a group of guys who could be brought up and help out when needed
crab ziggy hanson rosehill holzer lashoff could all be called up to play when needed and there getting a chance to develop now in the minors
i think muler could become good one day
and they have the strong leadership of jeff finger ha ha

i think the first step to building a good team is building talent in the ahl

Now, it would be perfect if he could build an NHL team properly..

Are Ross and McKegg elidgeable to play at the WJ's next year or was this it? I thought they could play next year, but a friend of mine is convinced they can't.
