http://bruins.nhl.com/team/app/?serv...ticleid=336302The summer has been a very exciting one for the Boston Bruins, and yet another positive development has been announced by Hockey Canada, which should leave the Bruins scouting staff beaming.
Today, HockeyCanada.ca is reporting that forward Milan Lucic, a highly touted Bruins prospect who recently signed with the club, has been named the captain of the under-20 Team Canada participating in the Super Series.
The Super Series, which commences on Monday, pits the best youngsters the provinces have to offer against the best under-20 skaters from Russia.
There are three Black & Gold prospects on Team Canada, including Lucic, Zach Hamill and Brad Marchand.
On the other side, Yuri Alexandrov will man the blue line for Russia.
From HockeyCanada.ca:
Team Canada Names Captain and Alternate Captains for Canada/Russia Super Series
MOSCOW, RUSSIA – Hockey Canada, in partnership with the Canadian Hockey League (CHL), along with head coach Brent Sutter and his coaching staff announced on Saturday that Milan Lucic (Vancouver, BC/ Vancouver, WHL) will be Canada’s captain for the upcoming Canada/Russia Super Series from August 27 – September 9. Bruins fans should be pretty excited about this development. I certainly am. Anyone who met Milan at Bruins Development Camp is not suprised by this announcement as his personality lends itself to leadership.
Coupled with his hockey skills and imposing on-ice presence and you have the whole package, hockey wise. Hockey Canada has made a very wise choice.
Again, best of luck to all four Bruins prospects in the upcoming series and a sincere congratulations to Milan.

http://bruins.nhl.com/team/app/?serv...ticleid=336335The Canadian junior hockey team has opened its eight-game Super Series against Russia with a win.
Brad Marchand of the QMJHL's Val d'Or Foreurs and Sam Gagner of the OHL's London Knights each scored and had an assist to lift Canada to a 4-2 win over the Russian squad.
Kyle Turris, who will play at the University of Wisconsin this season, added a goal on a penalty shot while Stefan Legein of the OHL's Niagara IceDogs opened the scoring for the Canadians.
Ilya Kablukov and Alexander Ryabev gave Russia a 2-0 lead with first-period goals.
Canada's penalty-killing unit was busy. It killed off 11 Russian power plays, including two two-man advantages. Canada was 0-for-5 on the power play.
The next game is Wednesday in Ufa.
The final four games of the event, which commemorates the 1972 Summit Series, will be staged in Canada.

http://bruins.nhl.com/team/app/?serv...ticleid=336538confident Canadian junior hockey team is going home with a sweep of the first four games of their Super Series with Russia.
The Canadians capped the Russian leg of the eight-game event with a 4-2 victory on Saturday at Arena Omsk.
They need a win or a tie Tuesday in Winnipeg to win the series and make the final three games count for pride only.
Brad Marchand of the Val-d'Or Foreurs scored a pair of goals and Sam Gagner of the London Knights had a goal and two assists. John Tavares of the Oshawa Generals also scored.
Brad Marchand looks like he could be a stud for the B's

Andrew Bodnarchuk
grade-6.5-C
defensemen
Acquired: 5th round (#128 overall), 2006
Future
Bodnarchuk’s size could be a liability at the next level, and he will have to work hard when he gets an opportunity, but he has the talent and the two-way ability to be a good second-pairing defenseman with plenty of power play time. He will be an integral part of Halifax’s blue line next season.
according to hockey futures.com, were the 9th ranked system in the NHL.
the only players in the top 50 prospects are krejci (21) and rask (8)
