If Gary Brown has any game whatsoever now is the time to showcase it. He has a potential job waiting for him on a silver platter.

Gary Brown had a couple hits last night with a triple. Develop that gap-power for AT@T.

Baggs wrote up a pretty good minor league update:

Between Mac Williamson and Angel Villalona, there should be a lot of tape-measure home runs for Single-A San Jose. Ryan Cavan, the Peninsula kid who hit that memorable Cactus League home run last month, is trying out a new position for Andy Skeels' club, too. He's moving from second base to third base.

The Giants don't have much coverage at third base in the system. That's one reason that Juan Perez, a pretty toolsy outfielder who is right there with Gary Brown in terms of defensive ability, moved to play third for Triple-A Fresno. The team already has three other everyday outfielders in Brown, Roger Kieschnick and Francisco Peguero.

Congrats are in order to Jack Snodgrass and Daryl Maday, who combined for a seven-inning no-hitter for Double-A Richmond over New Britain on Friday. (It was part of a doubleheader one day after a rainout, and they play seven-inning twinbill games in the minors.) Snodgrass walked one and struck out two in six innings. Maday also walked one and struck out two in the seventh. Andrew Susac, who really impressed coaches with his hitting and catching this spring, was behind the plate for all seven innings.

In other minor league news, the club transferred shortstop Ehire Adrianza from Fresno to Richmond, where he'll repeat the Eastern League after really struggling with the bat last season. Adrianza needs to turn the corner soon. He's always had the glove to play in the big leagues, but hasn't gotten stronger as club officials had hoped. One offshoot of this move: Joe Panik is likely to play a lot more second base than shortstop.

Some folks took note that Brett Bochy didn't break with an affiliate. That's because he's on the 7-day disabled list. He had a tender elbow in the spring, and although he expected to be ready to start the year, he was a bit behind other pitchers. The rosters fill up quickly. Shane Loux is also on the 7-day DL, likely because there just wasn't enough room for him to start with Fresno. He traveled with the Grizzlies, though, and is likely to be added soon as they juggle personnel. Infielder Brock Bond is on the DL too, with an oblique strain.

Finally, the Giants released the following players. One name you might recognize is Shawn Sanford, who had some pretty good years for Augusta and San Jose: RHP Kevin Couture, RHP Willy Lebron, RHP Mitch Mormann, RHP Shawn Sanford, RHP Kyle Vazquez, LHP Franklin Noel, LHP Matt Yourkin, 2B Carlos Willoughby, 3B Daniel Mayora, OF Mike Mergenthaler.

Its very depressing how so many Giants prospects hit for power in the CAL league, then fall of the face of the planet.

    Playoff Bochy.

The 6-4-3 with Crawford, Panik, and Belt should be pretty sweet in the future.

Nice long session with the manager today. Bochy really impressed with Hembree, says he's likely to be in line for call-up when needed.

Brown went 2/3 with a HR tonight. His overall line doesn't look too tasty though.
