    Giants extend Brandon Crawford for six years, $75M

    The San Francisco Giants and Brandon Crawford have reached an agreement on a six-year contract through 2021, club Senior Vice President and General Manager Bobby Evans announced today. The deal covers his two remaining years of arbitration and four years of free agency. Per club policy, financial terms were not disclosed.

    Agreed. I think waiting until next year (having one less year of arbitration) would have ended up costing them.

    I like it, 12.5 AAV is not bad at all. That's relatively cheap by ML standards today for an above average SS.

    Even if Crawford does not repeat his season offensively he had in 2015, he's still worth this contact due to his defense and the position he plays. If he continues to produce offensively like he did this year, then this contract is an absolute bargain.

    Plus, at only 28 (29 when the season starts), I think there's a good chance he stays productive through most of the deal.

    Holy ****, good for the giants, this looks him up through either his age 33 or 34 season, so all of his prime basically. This is good, though if he had another year like this, it would have been so much more expensive to resign him.
