I find it odd they graded Soler's power higher than Baez.
Soriano is easily the best OF we have right now. He was our best overall player last year. Sappelt is nothing but a 4th or 5th OF
I would rather the Cubs keep Soriano. If they have any intentions of competing this year he would have to be on this team.
Hopefully it will be some kind of trade but I doubt it will be anything substantial.
I like this idea
Interesting to not see Maples on there. Some sites rate him pretty high while others fail to mention him at all. Personally I don't believe he is top 10 right now.
If that was the case he would have been gone last season before he got injured.
I'm not against keeping Marmol. If we sign Bourn we could end up a surprise competitor. Marmol is a good back end situational guy as long as he isn't the closer.
So you think we should trade him for a 4th OF, crappy utility player, or some middle reliver? That is probably what his value is right now so we might as well just keep him and hope he does something...
I would be perfectly content w keeping all our starting pitchers. It would be nice not to watch Casey Coleman, Justin Germano, or whatever sorry excuse for a major league pitcher they decided on...
You don't sign a player for 4yrs to be trade bait
Edit: unless you're the Marlins
I really hope we can sign Bourn. Improving our defense on top of improving the pitching staff will go a long way. Stewart at 3B should be an upgrade on D and hopefully Castro continues to improve....
If we add Jackson and Bourn could we maybe be talking playoffs?
Porcello. He has higher upside while Smyly will top out as an average 3
I really like what the Jays have done. The trade w the Marlins was a steal and I think the Dickey trade was a good one for both teams.
I think almost every pitcher has had some type of injury concern by the time they hit free agency. I wouldn't get too worked about the elbow.
I'd take Garza at 5/85. I'm sure pitchers will only get bigger contracts again next year so 5/85 on Garza would be pretty solid.
I'd much rather have Sanchez
Typical Cub "acquisition". We won't ever be able to make a major move
Not as much as when they read you wanting to trade a prospect with an extremely high ceiling for a 3B that will probably turn out average just because we need a 3B. Especially considering the fact we...
I really hope Vogelbach keeps mashing and makes it extremely hard for the FO to decide between him and Rizzo in a few years.
Trading Baez for Olt is probably the dumbest trade idea I've heard yet
Lake is hitting .336/.401/.496 with 4hrs in 131 ABs while in comparison Oscar Taveras is hitting .319/.385/.500 with 4hrs in 144 ABs both are in the Dominican Winter League. Not that these stats mean...
If the Cubs think they can get more value out of him at the trade deadline then hold on to him but if they think Brown is the most they can get then trade him. It's not like we HAVE to trade him now....
