If getting good players stops us from getting other good players, then we're screwed regardless.

We don't have a Carlos Delgado or Carlos Beltran anymore, we need good players at each position. We can't carry replacement players at more than 1 position. The market for CF are terrible now.

He's an average defender at 1B. He's got a .811 OPS right now which is better than average for 1B around the league. So he doesn't suck. He's had a tough May, but he's likely to turn it around.
Choo is a leadoff guy. He is almost guaranteed to be a Met imo. It makes so much sense for so many reasons.
Hey that's 14 more homers than Tejada. I'll take it.
Cabrera hasn't regressed that much, and it's still early this year:
2011: .273/.332/.460
2012: .270/.338/.423
2013: .248/.313/.435
His average should increase and his power looks up.
To hit .260, he needs to have a 25% LD rate at least. I don't see him drawing that amount of walks since there's no reason to pitch around him. He has a .552 OPS right now which is disgusting.

I'd take Santana #3. He's entering his prime whereas Mauer is getting older and he had his injuries. His BABIP is at .437 right now. As great as he is, that isn't going to last.
lol that's it? I already knew that.
Ruben's LD rate finally came back to earth, that's why his average is so low. He's barely a .260 hitter, and he doesn't draw a ton of walks or anything. He has 0 power. He's only an average defender....
No chance they beat out the Astros or Marlins for #1. If we had Rodon it would be over.
They should just keep Ike up here all year and keep Wheeler in the minors lmao.
Same, and I love Frazier.
#TRAID s
I don't see WAR as the end-be-all stat.
Tejada is not a good hitter. The dude needed a 30% LD rate last year to have a .339 BABIP and .289 BA.
He's not a plus defender, he's only average....
His bat looks like it could be special though, so I wouldn't care if he had to move to RF.
"Weak hitting" Vincente Lupo? Sarcasm right? Lol
Yeah, and Albert Cordero has earned his right to be back-up for St. Lucie. He's hit a bit more than Maron, but his defense has been excellent. Maron should be sent down to Savannah.
I'd spend money at SS instead of 1B. Just move Duda to 1B, where he's most comfortable.
Sandy is known for sacrificing defense for offense, and Hanley still has that offensive upside and talent. He's not a good SS defender, but he's not as bad as you or defensive metrics are making him...
Interesting development. We're still 2 weeks away ugh.
Yup. Same path as Harvey.
Lol who cares if Hanley is a below average SS defensively. He can hit and hit for power. Would you rather Ruben's bat and average defense at SS?
I also wasn't talking about Melky Cabrera, I was...
Yeah, but an owner shouldn't take away a fan's fanhood. That's wrong. The Wilpons weren't always the owners.
I need to look more into R/9, but I like what I've heard about it. You may be right, and I agree with ERA being best in large sample sizes. I mean I can't just ignore actual runs allowed, even if...
I'd take Hanley, Cabrera, or Hardy any day over Tejada.
Brett Gardner would be sweet in CF.
