SO SO glad Wren didn't sign him in Atlanta.
dang it
I'm fine with him not being resigned. It's no biggie. The team that gives Bourn what he wants will be pretty mad in a year or two when he's NOT giving them what they want.
The problem with signing Hamilton is simply...we won't be able to resign the young backbones of our future. In essence we'd be saying goodbye to a lot of these guys. The money just wouldn't be there...
Sheesh...all this young talent is going to cost us a bundle very soon. It seems like extending their contracts now would be a solid move which is a pretty big kink in making some kind of splash in...
Amen.
I like this move too. Cheap, youngish, speed off the bench and it adds to our roster. Plus he came up in the Braves academy so he knows the program. Nothing earth shattering but it's good news.
Everybody, I don't care who you are or how much you think you know, is wrong if they think Uggla can't be traded. Sorry. Your just wrong. There is no rule in baseball that says Dan Uggla cannot be...
Pagan? Absolutely. If Wright leaves Mets...yeah..I'd go after him too.
Swisher, Pagan, Wright, Pierre (bench) sure man, sounds good.
But not great.
The best option is for Wren to explore some...
Do not resign Bourn. That's a start. He had a pretty decent season. Wheels already coming off and he was worthless towards the end of the season. He will demand BIG money and you'll all be whining in...
Great season for us, was a blast
Pros: Watching Chipper blast his way through the league in his final season. Some magic happened out there we can all agree on. Also loved the love that the league...
yup...ROY MVP, most def. Simply amazing player, playing at a baseball god level right now.
Best move you guys have made in recent memory was hiring Theo. He's a guy that always has a plan. I'm pretty sure you guys will turn it around soon and be competitive. It's only good for baseball in...
hoosiercubsfan...I can role with that. Nice explanation of the whys involved and makes better sense from a historic viewpoint now. Thanks!
If the Cubs were looking at contending in 2..say 3 years...that would place Garza at 30 or 31. Still young. He could be the head of their staff and be a mentor to the younger pitchers. Look, I'm not...
RTG Three: Though our rotation as it is now is okay, is this a World Series rotation? Sheets has had 2 great games but how much gas is left in the tank. Minor is talented but unreliable, and Medlen...
Thus, Rtg, I said STEAL and emphasized that...stranger things have happened, though you are correct about his injury. The other problem I see with Garza doesn't really come up on paper. Garza is 28...
Wow. Well...I say hold. If we can STEAL Garza from the Cubs, I'd go for it. Johnson would be nice but the Fish already say they want top prospects packages...so naw, let him slide.
Don't want a...
Bah...this confirms only that we're looking to shore up the bullpen imo. It might also signal we're about to include one of our bullpen guys in a trade. Grienke, Sheilds, or Garza will be a Brave...
You know Ozzie Guillen is freakin salty right now...congrats LA...stunning trade
I'm not mad at Dempster and certainly won't criticize him for his preference. As I understand, he has family in LA and a sick daughter. Why would he want to be stuck in Atlanta?
I sure hope that if...
I get the anger, I really do. On some level I think we all kind of look at the players and the league and wonder what's really going on here. Most of us work our butts off just to make ends meet and...
Yeah, I actually like Juan. I remember what a dork I was at 24 and it's hard to judge him. Crazy power. SB does have a point, we might be holding Prado closer to our heart then we should...but maybe...
I like Justin Upton coming to Atlanta...but ehhh...trading Prado makes me nervous. Obviously, we all love Prado, he's a great hitter and our future at 3d base; Bourn has no place in our future...
bring back Blauser!
