Not too familiar with White, can anyone provide insight on his skill set/potential?
Good article. I'm very excited to see what Greg can do on the court. At the very least, I think he'll be a solid big, and at best I think he could become a star.
My thinking behind T-Mac at the 1.
He might not be the scorer he once way because of age and injuries, but he might still be able to be a good passer/playmaker. Maybe he'd be good for 10/6/5,...
Knew I was forgetting somebody. Wonder if they could find a market for Gordon... or maybe it'd just be best to keep him and hope he can catch fire.
I think ideally, both Prince and Rip get traded...
BEST LINEUP (IMO OF COURSE)
Bynum
Hamilton
McGrady
Prince
Monroe
Prince would probably have some troubles going 1 on 1 with some of the top 4's, but between him and Monroe, they might be able...
I could dig that lineup, but I'd change it to be:
Jackson
Drew
Ordonez
Cabrera
Boesch
Guillen
Strieby
Inge
No, pretty sure Castellanos is the future at 3B (assuming he signs of course).
And the amazing thing is, the Tigers have a kid in AAA right now by the name of Ryan Strieby who's supposed to be an even better pure hitter. Potential .300 AVG/30 HR/ .360+ OBP kinda guy.
+1, my exact sentiments.
No thank you. The Tigers aren't good enough to contend right now. Way too many holes in the rotation (Verlander, Scherzer... maybe Galarraga, and that's about it). And too many underachieving guys in...
I've heard that Patrick Leyland is actually a legit prospect who was drafted about right where scouts thought he'd go. I've heard Bo McClendon wasn't even worth a pick as he didn't play much at Val....
To zander,
I'd also like Maggs to retire a Tiger... but if you can either get a team to cough up prime prospects for him, I think it'd be hard to turn that down.
To Gasman,
Raburn has shown...
I was happy with the Valverde signing at the time, and am even more giddy about it now. That being said, I would not hesitate to deal him if some team was willing to offer up some prime prospects...
But that's actually just it. For any pitchers out there, you'll know that the smallest screw up in your mechanics can cause loss in velocity or control failures or a combo of both. Mechanics for a...
Haha, I gotcha man. Sorry to come off kinda hostile.
Agreed. He needs to prove tomorrow that last Sunday was not an aberration and that he's truly "turned the corner" in his career.
I'm not trying to act like a smug sonofagun, but c'mon, I kinda am in the know based on the fact that I talk with people in the know.
Don't believe me, it's called Tigstown. It's a part of the...
I'm in contact with guys who are in contract with scouts. My info comes straight from that source. Take a deeper look into his numbers:
Career xFIP (better way to look at how a pitcher is pitching...
Ed,
Yes, Crosby has a golden arm and is a tremendous talent (one of the top LHP prospects out there). But the fact remains that he cannot stay healthy. Fact of the matter is, he's a bigger risk...
Good man!!!
Uhm, actually, he doesn't... His stuff is decent enough, especially considering what we gave up.
Buckner is actually a good get for the Tigers. Low-90s fastball, can touch 94, potential plus curveball, working on a change-up.
http://detnews.com/article/20100601/SPORTS0104/6010415/Tigers-trade-Dontrelle-Willis-to-Diamondbacks
Dontrelle to ARZ for RHP Billy Buckner and cash considerations. Tigers will pay all but...
But that's just it, he can't stay healthy. Teams don't want the centerpiece of a trade to be a risk. The risk type guys are always the throw ins or the secondary pieces. Guys like Turner (who...
HAHAHAHA!!! Ya, that'd get him. Wilkin isn't a centerpiece player as he's a bust or a star type and Crosby has little value right now seeing as he can't stay healthy.
To get Oswalt, I'd probably...
