Ayers>than both these guys at this point. Go ask raider fans what they think of Justin Tuck this year. He's donezo.
Absolutely. If my memory serves me...2009-2012 time frame was probably the worst for Brady and his "ghost" pressure. He would absolutely give up in the pocket, feel pressure that wasn't there,...
If everyone is in their primes:
QB: Tom Brady - 2007
RB: Corey Dillon - 2004
WR: Moss - 2007
WR: Edelman - current
TE: Gronk - 2011
TE - Hernandez - 2011
LT: Light - whenever
Patriots would be absurdly unstoppable. 2007 Moss and 2011 Gronk/Hernandez on the same team? 2004 Corey Dillon at RB? Yikes.
Good article which touches on a lot of the points ya'll are arguing about.
Very thin on edge defenders. Wouldn't be surprised to see Bequette up from the PS. Can't imagine they'd roll with 3 DE, one of them being Moore who is essentially a redshirt.
Browner can't really cover TEs. He needs the sideline as a barrier to make up for his lack of quickness/hip speed. Athletic tight ends would turn him around in the middle of the field.
Just to note, KC starters were in on that Jimmy G drive, along with pats O starters. Except for Brady obviously.
DEs reading run/pass before they attack, CBs are in soft zone, no chance with the talent we on defense that this is what we should look like. I blame BB+Patricia and the scheme/gameplan. Switch it up.
Look at Craig Biggio for how Jeter would be remembered if he played outside of NY. Jeter has him with the bat (not by a whole lot), but Biggio was a far superior defender.
If you want to get exotic with the O-Line, there was some buzz before week 1 of Vollmer kicking inside to LG. If he can play it at that height (at 6'8, you'd worry about leverage inside), you could...
I have much bigger issues with Devey getting any sort of playing time. He's awful. Connolly can be solid, he along with everyone else was awful yesterday. O Line needs to be...
Works the other way too. Much easier to get injured at DE than at LS. If Ninko goes down during his normal duties...oops, no more long snapper.
Looks like Halapio is the first cut of the day.
Per Ben Volin, he's heard Vollmer likely moving to LG with Cannon to RT. So strange. I guess they really are dead set against Cannon at G. Hopefully this works out, gotta believe BB knows which...
As an early projection, this looks pretty good to me. A few things:
-Agree on Thomkins, I see him as the odd man out. If no Keller/Finley, he gets on as a 7th receiver.
-OL looks spot on to me....
The Pats have one of the strongest rosters #25-53. People are hung up on the lack of "stars," but check how many camp cuts from the Pats get picked up by other teams. That implies a strong back end...
I know it's silly, but the small hands thing concerns me a bit. I like the kid, I think he can play, but in New England (cold weather, elements) hand size is something of importance.
Please tell me we have a trade worked out for Mallett... :(
Loyko tweets that we took the Garrapalo
Check that, Loyko re tweeted Howe.
****. Must mean they have a trade for Mallet worked out?
Would make sense if Cannon is seen as a guard next year.
Wasn't it pretty chilly on that start? High 30's? If that's the case, you could attribute at least some of the velocity dip to that.
It makes sense by way of getting your best players on the field. There seems to be a bit of a logjam at CB. Not that that's a bad thing, but if your sitting Ryan/Dennard in favor of Harmon or another...
