If Scutaro is in any way part of the plan for next year, we're ****ed.
Here were Schulman's tweets about the Giants offering 5/$90 during spring, if anyone still cares:
It's not even so much that he didn't confirm it, these tweets give a better idea:
Sandoval's agents repeatedly said there was no deal with the Red Sox, while there was very clearly a deal reached with the Red Sox.
GM's don't take kindly to that kind of ****.
McGehee's not a huge improvement over our in house options, really.
And they're going to have him play LF, which just seems insane to me.
There are 2 Cuban guys who both will probably get around Pablo money. Yoan Moncada is more major league ready, Yasmany Tomas has already received an offer from the Giants.
Maybe with Sandoval leaving, they might focus on working out a long term deal with Belt to avoid this in the future...
If he signs with the Giants, I think it's going to have to involve them making a stupid offer like 6/115, so Heyman looks safe.
Let's throw that money at Moncada.
It's not like the GM's are spending more just because, the teams all got a bunch of money to spend from national TV deals. That money can either go to the owners or the players, so bring on the silly...
Headley (531 PAs):
There you go, Headley's .004 points higher in OBP,...
It'd be great if they did, then he petitioned to be a player-manager and used himself to PH or something from time to time.
That article was from Tuesday or Wednesday, and had the Blue Jays as the team with the remaining 10% chance of signing him, so I wouldn't give it much credit.
If Sabean loses him because he wasn't willing to bump his offer up by $1 million a year, he'll get crucified by the media.
...except he has a NTC.
Plus the Rays have James Loney signed through 2017, so I don't see why they'd need/want Belt.
Power's his only MLB ready tool, though, and AT&T is one of the best parks at suppressing power..
We'd need a time machine.
Tomas is likely to cost as much as Sandoval (although for a longer, smaller AAV deal), and even though he's a power guy, this was what a "Cuban baseball expert for USA Today" said about him:
This is where the 5 WAR misunderstanding came up, everybody relax.
SenorGato meant over the contract, not just one season.
I don't know why you're bringing up some nerd stat like wOBA when discussing dat dude BP. Look at the real important stat with him:
2012 - 77 RBI, 2013 - 103 RBI, 2014 - 51 RBI
I've only ever heard the opposite about him until he hit FA, so I'd take it with a grain of salt.
