Yes I think Schwarber is definitely in the mix if Rodon/Aiken are gone. They want and the organization needs a left handed bat bad. Obviously Conforto is right there as well.
You have to hope Kolek or Jackson go in the top 3 which is possible, but not a guarantee. Neither of those two are targets at 4 from what I can gather.
Not if Rodon or Aiken are there.
Hope Rodon or Aiken fall for some reason otherwise it could be a very interesting pick.
I would be shocked if Kolek is the pick. I think they are going to underslot someone. Not 100 percent sure who that is right now.
KC is in the mix.
Not sure....but I do know they won't grossly overpay for anything.
Yes....not only is the money off, but the years as well. I also think Samardzija wants out too. He should be the first big name player traded this year. The last start count can start right now.
Unless Rodon's arm falls off he is going number 1.
Does Jason Hammel change the variance at all?
To be fair Keith Law may be an actual troll. He is about the same height as one.
Yeah there is literally no upper level catching depth. If Castillo were to go down it would be a mess. Maybe this Cuban guy could help mitigate that.
Plus Kottaras sucks anyways.
You need more than one catcher and Castillo has had a lot nagging injuries throughout his career.
The Cubs are desperate for a catcher so that makes sense.
The Cubs aren't done. They will add another starting pitcher, but it won't be one of the sexy names out there. It will be one of the Maholm, Hammel or James McDonald types.
Yes I agree. The Cubs didn't have the best offer and wouldn't have beaten the Yankees final offer even if they had known the full details of it.
The Cubs didn't have a higher offer than the Yankees. They felt that was an overpay. Plus the Yankees are in crazy mode now and there is no stopping them. Last time they missed the playoffs they...
It was more than a 5 million dollar difference.
I agree though....I would much rather play for the Yankees if I were him, but money always is the deciding factor in these things.
The Cubs were underneath the Yankees offer. Pretty sure it was a pretty significant and not just a couple million.
Maholm will probably be a Cub soon and I would think we can restart the...
He doesn't want to be a part of a rebuild.
No I have been stating for a while that they were heavy on Tanaka and I have heard nothing that said they were backing off.
Nothing new really. I'm still willing to bet the LA teams are both out on him. The Angels especially. The Dodgers are too crazy to predict with a ton of confidence.
That joeby guy was spot on with Soler. I heard after the fact that there was an agreement in place well before it was announced just like he said. Of course that was illegal.
I think the offer has always been there. My stance is Tanaka's position may have changed with the LA teams not being as heavily involved as initially advertised. Still have the Yankees out there...
