I agree. The Yankees have three of the top 5 relievers in baseball right now in their bullpen. Don't mess with an insane strength the team will have.

Thank god. Harold Reynolds is a complete hack and should never be paid to offer analysis about baseball.

The biggest key is going to be the Yankees lineup this year. Ellsbury bouncing back and Tex, A-Rod and McCann maintaining consistency is what's going to make this team a contender.

Chapman is a free agent after this upcoming season. I assume this is just a one year stint.

This shortens game by a ton. Betances, Miller and Chapman is an other worldly back end of the bullpen.

Why shouldn't he? Jeter, along with plenty of players before him, are no brainers to be in the hall of fame. If that's the case, that individual should get 100% of the vote.

If we were to trade Miller we would have to receive legitimate pitching prospects that are close to being MLB ready. I'm all for keeping him though and retaining our dominant back end of the bullpen.

They won't because the voters are *******s who believe that no player deserves to get 100% of the vote. Basically they are making the process about themselves rather than just doing their damn jobs.

That has to be the primary reason. They are close to the $189 million dollar mark. And I don't blame the owners at all for wanting to get under it to avoid the luxury tax.

I can't even begin to say how much of a trainwreck a 7 year deal for Chris Davis would be.

I believe Chapman is still under contract with the Reds for this season. Can't sign him until next offseason.

I don't want to see him dealt either. He's the primary cog of a very strong bullpen the Yankees have. I would only be open to dealing him if they are able to get a young and proven starting pitcher...

I wonder if there's a potential match with the Dodgers for a deal involving Miller.

Could this be related to the Wilson trade? Or something else/bigger?

I would be fine with it as long as the Yankees did their homework on the quality prospects coming back in return. Selling high on Wilson would be a good thing.

I'm so glad they didn't bite on the original deal that included Gardner. Trading a middle reliever for a young, cost controlled second baseman has the opportunity to produce much more gain.
