I don't think Mayhew is that dumb. Perhaps his ego got the best of him last year and he thought he had a better eye for secondary talent than most which is why he felt he could draft players later on and be successful.
I'm hoping he learned from that mistake and will not ignore the GAPING holes on this roster that he has built. He says BPA and thats because we have some needs on both sides of the ball. In the top 3 rounds, it would not be terrible if we addressed the following positions:
RB, WR, G, C
or
DE, OLB, MLB, S, CB
I highly doubt he goes WR, RB, DT like some of you are suggesting. The BPA would work if a top 15 RB was sitting there at pick #37. Thats what BPA means.
I think with our top 3 picks we address the D big time. At least I hope so.
