Sox talking to Laroche again, FML.
Smoke and mirrors
I'm hoping a deal can be made with Napoli but it doesn't look like it. Remember when we signed JD Drew it took what 52 days to complete because of his medical history? I think the FO is keeping their options opened and talking with AL incase both parties are not satisfied with a deal. If we offered him 3 yrs $39M for ML shorten to 2 years and keep the money the same or go up a bit.
I was huge on Napoli before. And still wouldn't mind him. But now that we have all these bp arms I wonder if we can trade for someone better. Someone with a better health history. I do t know who. But aslugger like Trumbo would have been nice if tbe Halos didnt trade off KM. But cant blame them tbey got pretty solid return for him. I still drool over ther idea of Headly. He'd cost a ton in terms of prospects but he would be great to have.
It's musical chairs w/ just about everyone paired off already. Guarantee $10, $7, $3M - with the rest made up in bonuses for PA's, even go over $13 if he hits some career high type PA mark.
The alternatives are not very good.
Laroche just gives us even more leverage in Napoli's talks. He'd be smart to sign soon.
I wonder who it could be lolQuote:
According to Rob Bradford of WEEI.com, Mike Napoli has drawn interest from at least one team other than the Red Sox.
How many times have we got this guy but not really!?!?!

A Major League source told the Globe tonight that the Red Sox are working toward a contract agreement with first baseman Mike Napoli and are "hopeful" of getting it done.
Napoli agreed to terms on a three-year, $39 million deal on Dec. 3. But an issue — believed to be a pre-existing hip injury — was detected during Napoli's physical on Dec. 7. The sides have been working on a amended deal since.
Napoli, 31, remains a free agent. But he is not believed to have negotiated with any other teams since the initial agreement with the Red Sox. And while the Red Sox have not closed the door on other players, their focus has been on securing Napoli.
LaRoche has re-up with Nats on 2 year. Does Anyone think Nap will now have to go for that term too?
i hope its a 2 years and a option
