Tuitt may be raw, but his production and skill are truly exceptional. Defensive linemen have more of an impact on each down than a MLB in my opinion as well. I know the MLB makes the defensive calls and creates continuity, but Tuitt is a disruptive force on every single play. Great in rush defense, and obviously one of the more talented pass-rushers in college football. ND took the next step as a defense when they finally got an athlete like Tuitt to come there. I do think Te'o is a great player, but Tuitt deserves a lot more credit than he receives from the national media.
That's sort of how it goes. Especially in a 3-4 scheme where Tuitt is expected to be a run stuffer and not a pure pass rusher. You're not going to make a ton of highlight reels.
The reason I say he's raw is because he over pursues sometimes and has missed some sacks or tackles that he could have made. I always chalk it up to him being young.
Well I know player A is Te'o and player B is Jones. I still think Te'o is better. But they also play a different style. Te'o isn't running in there all the time trying to generate sacks like Jones. Te'o will be the most complete player heading into the draft (safe player). Much like Kuechly was last year

Called it.... Manziel pretty much got all the votes in those two regions. Just another benefit of conference re-alignment.
And yet one got voted 2nd in the Heisman voting and the other wasn't even in the conversation....
