How would you handle the Bynum Situation?

Assuming Bynums return date keeps getting pushed back. what do you do? resign him? Trade him? Let him walk?

Looking at the free agency I would prefer to trade him while we can still get good value in return. This is if Bynum does look to be damaged goods.

A team I can see being interested in Bynum and his expiring off the top of my head is Chicago

I would look for a deal involving bynum for deng and noah.

Why would chicago do this? rose comes back healthy next season, resign bynum and have a dynamic dandom. also amenesty boozer and you have cap space to go out and get another stud.

We do it? gives us a scorer and defender in deng and a tough high energy player in noah. We then all of a sudden have many trade pieces to land a low post scorer to play the four. could end up with a lineup like:

jrue/ivey
JRich/Young
Deng/Wright
Jefferson/Young
Noah/Allen/Brown

What would you do?

Hopefully we can deal him to a team, like maybe Dallas and their High-spending owner to get a return ending contract or two, and a 1st rounder that we gave away to get this ridiculous Bum!!

I don't see how anyone can think Bynum can return good value. He has to play first.

The Sixers traded major league talent for him, and he hadn't proven anything yet, so anything is possible.

If he plays, and plays well, re-sign him of course. If we don't get a good look at him, I'd look to try to sign him on a shorter deal that gives us some protection if he's knees completely crumble, but it would be nice to see him first.

I don't miss any of it other than vooch. I'd do it again too. Amnesty ing brand is my only regret of summer. It was a shot we took that has no long term negative repercussions. Still a good trade.

I'm not so worried about Bynum. We knew he was a risk but a well calculated one. Knew he had knee issues. I personally don't think it's a big deal at this point.

There was an article on Grantland a while back that Bill Simmons (I think) wrote about Greg Oden. The article mentioned the neglect of the teams doctors and improper diagnosis of his knee/leg issues. They blamed their staff for the long-term durability issues of Joel Prysbila, Brandon Roy, and Oden. But I mention this because, the article also mentioned a non-league employed third-party doctor did an extensive diagnostic test on Oden's body. Not only was he able to to identify the specific problems, but also was able to diagnose potential future problems (like areas that will be affected by lack of mobility, areas that would take on residual damage to to overcompensation caused by nursing injury, etc.) If the team was REALLY serious about keeping Bynum and putting the best team possible out there, I'd consider doing this ASAP. Especially before making any decisions on moving him or not.

Obviously, value is based a lot on hype. So sending him to a specialist linked to Greg Oden would have to be something they do on the extreme DL. But it's still what I would do first.

Andrew Bynum met with the media on Friday and said that he had injured his left knee compensating for the soreness in his right. It was strange, particularly when he noted that he had a bone bruise in the other knee. Now reports have surfaced on Saturday of how he injured the other knee, and it wasn't basketball.

It was bowling.

Multiple sources told ESPN on Saturday that Bynum suffered an unspecified injury this month while bowling. On Friday, Bynum revealed that -- on top of the issues with his right knee that could keep him sidelined until January -- he also had suffered a "setback" with his left knee.

Let's be honest, here. Getting injured while bowling is pretty embarrassing. It's not Monta Ellis with the moped, but it's not how you want to lose a year, especially when you have repetitive knee injuries.

But Bynum's been stuck without being able to do anything physically and he enjoys bowling. ESPN reports that bowling is not one of the prohibited activities in his contract. Still, the Sixers can't be happy with how this situation is turning out. Missing Bynum for a much longer time frame due to bowling?

Now, before anyone here starts defending Bynum by saying Bowling is not one of the restrictive activities a player can do....but that is when a player is off-season, and healthy. But in reality Bowling is way more of a risk to a already bad/weak knee then playing NFL Football. A person twists and contorts his/her body all types of ways while Bowling. The very fact that this dude cares so little about concentrating on strictly getting healthy and rehabbing his knee only shows what a complete JOKE Bynum is. And what a JOKE the Sixers are for trading for this Idiot!!

You have to keep him. 99.99999% chance you won't find anyone with half of his talent in FA and you traded 2 first round draft picks last year (in separate trades) so your flexibility is limited. Teams will still offer him the max, and unless he misses the whole year with serious problem, we will have to offer him the max too.

When you have one knee, can't do any activities outside of jogging in a pool, and experiences pain when you make any movements besides running straight, it isn't the best idea to do anything that could further hurt yourself.
