How about some new blood in outfield?

The reason both teams would be interested: They would get 3 good players who they could resign at affordable price. All of those teams (Pirates 79 wins, Marlins 69 wins, and Rockies 64 wins) haven't and will not win while they have them under contract. If they were to give their young star a big contract they would end up like the Rangers when they signed A-Rod. The Yankees would be interested because they would get a younger (McCutchen, Staton, Gonzalez) upgrade over Granderson. Also because they have a lot of money, they would replace Hughes/Chamberlain with Sanchez and Soria.

Granderson and Hughes will be affordable?

Why not keep the cheaper, younger, better player and then go sign Sanchez and Soria?

Why do you want Stanton, Heyward, and McCutchen more than Granderson? Becuase they're young, cheap, and under team control? Well those are the same reasons that the Marlins, Pirates, and As will want a heck of a lot more than Granderson in return.

Maybe slightly off topic, but I have visions of this monstrous, mammoth neanderthal, hitting bombs into 2nd, 3rd decks and possibly challenging the streets of the New Yankee Stadium ! That's right, bring in KRONK ! If only for tape measure home-runs, bring in Travis Hafner. Can you imagine that beast in Yankee Stadium !? You smell that !? Pitcher just went on himself ! I don't know how diminished his skills are, but put him around protection in a loaded line-up, YIKES ! Probably can only be used as DH and 1st base. Other than that, I believe Shane "The Flying Hawaiian" Victorino might deserve a shot in left, even if it requires 2 years, with team option for 3rd year. And Chris Dickerson deserves more love than what he's been getting. Guy looks like he can play some ! Good defense, runs, with some pop.

Hafner is always getting injured now , so pass.

Hafner will get one of those Russell Branyan type deals with someone and cool his heels in AAA. He's only played in 100 games once in the past 5 seasons.
