Ok, here's the deal. You have an expansion team and you have NO players on your roster. You have the first pick of the draft and the two best players in the draft are two twenty year olds. There names are Kevin Garnett and Kobe Bryant. Who do you pick to build your team around?

Who would I pick to build around? Generally go with the big two way player but Kobe's longevity makes me think he may be the better bet. He's higher on my all time list though. Kudos Jason on making this thread most people would ***** out and be too afraid to have their opinion proven wrong by the masses you're at least trying to back your statements.

Garnett's had all-star caliber guards/wings - Cassell/Marbury/Spree/Wally/etc. and never did anything.
Anytime Kobe had one top big he won multiple chips. Even when he had NO help he led the Lakers to the playoffs and 45 wins.
kobe couldnt beat out Eddie Jones in practice I withness that myself THEY(management) had to trade eddie inorder for kobe to play you cannot build a team around a player with POOR IQ and bad shot selection
You put Wally on the same level and Shaq Gasol bynum and Howard? And Marbury? And an aged Spree? Please. Marbury, Wally and Spee (at least when he was with Garnett) played at nowhere near the level of Shaq, Gasol, Bynum and Howard. And Cassell only made one All-Star game.Quote:

Cassell and Spree were past their primes, Marbury let way too early, Wally... well come on. Kobe has played with a Prime Shaq, a Prime Gasol, Odom, an ever improving Bynum, and now has Prime Dwight on his team. You cant compare supporting casts, because its no competition. How about coaching? Bench? etc. If we apply more context to this argument I see no legit reasoning behind it. Kobe's cast was better hands down without a doubt.
