You're looking forward to the wrong offseason, nothing of great significance will happen till next offseason when they clear considerable payroll.
These are the type of moves they have to look into sadly until Bay and Santana are off the books.

If payroll is a detriment go out and make a trade then.
Bring in a Hank Conger or Tim Federowicz both are young catchers from LA stuck behind other options. (Ellis, Ianetta)
Kick the tires on Tony Cruz from St. Louis, Martin Maldonado from Milwaukee, or Devin Mesoraco from the Reds. All young guys with upside who need a chance to play but are stuck behind (Molina, Lucroy, and Hanigan)
Wasting money on Olivo (35) does nothing. And sadly, its the only thing this front office will consider because they arent creative.
Well we'll have to see what they do, they have quite a while to assemble a roster.
It's gonna most likely be by trade with limited payroll flexibility but that same limited payroll flexibility also hurts in regards to making trades.
They won't be able to add anyone who makes significant money (IE Chris Young who they couldn't afford, that's why they most likely didn't trade for him).
There is a reason why the guys you mentioned have had limited if not zero major league time, i don't want to change faces for the sake of changing faces either.
Take anything Sherman says with a grain of salt too btw
Well they're all in the business of speculating.
Olivo isn't one of his smartest suggestions but Cabrera still remains an interesting option.
Congratulations San Francisco Giants!
Well-deserved. Twice in three years.
In these days of parity that's a dynasty.......
And Angel Pagan found a home.......
Just goes to show you despite trading one of their best prospects, Zack Wheeler for rental Carlos Beltran it didn't stop them one iota......that's great management from the top down.
The Giants are what you call the model franchise we should learn from.......;)
I'm happy, anything that makes Dodger lovin' Fredo unhappy makes me happy.
The Giants also have IMO the best park in baseball.
Hoping that huricane Sandy (A) rips this team apart and starts his rebuilding process. Hey we might be able to get FEMA money for building a new outfield!
Sabean who has taken a lot of heat from many guys including me has won 2 WS rings, while a guy like Beane who gets praised left and right has won none.
Old school GM vs New School GM.
Hey guys I just saw this article from 2004 offseason. I thought it was really interesting:http://nymag.com/nymetro/news/sports/features/n_10297/
It basically predicted 2006-2008 and it was interesting. The team now should follow a similar method haha. Enjoy
BTW Jeremy Affeldt sign for the cheap price of 18 million over 3 years.
