Some other names to keep in mind, Carl Crawford, Ryan Howard, Jayson Werth, John Lackey, Barry Zito, Albert Pujols, and Joe Mauer.
Anyone else notice that Cano, Granderson, and Swisher all sucked? ARods like a Kevlar vest for all of the Yankees most unclutch compilers.
The Yankees are stuck with him for the duration.
Nobody is going to take his contract from them and it's going to be a position of concern going forward.
He's still an average 3rd baseman but they don't pay him to be average.
Due to the size of their contracts, I think the Pujols contract is currently the worst with A-Rod a close second.
Yankee fans are such whinny *****es (yes I know Im a yankee fan but still) Holy **** man, The man is nothing speical anymore, we all knew it was ganna get bad towards the end If you didn't go have your head checked out. With Arod there is no 09 World series, The first couple years were good now we are on the down swing of his great days. If he stays some what healthy he could still hit 30 in a regular season.
At least A-Rod is a 4 rWAR type player when healthy (although they are paying him way too much money to be that type of player)
Jason Bay is going to make 19 million dollars next year to be negative rWAR and fWAR OF.
It's a joke that his average rWAR over the last 3 seasons is .37. :laugh2:
People can say Vernon Wells or Albert pujols but arods contact is the worst in sports history...
when you are making nearly 300 million over ten years, you better be able to cash in on your investment...
For the money, aroid has been terrible...
He is reminding me more and more of Mannys last year...
Its almost as if people are programmed to say Wells.... Lol
When you are talking about that sort of money, stats really don't matter... Accolades, rings, attendance, and TV ratings matter...
Aroid has had no affect on any of that
How much did the Yankees profit when ARod won them the World Series in 2009?
He's still reasonably productive and they won a WS largely because of him in 2009.
The contract gives him a bad reputation but its hardly the worst ever because he has won.
A contract is only bad when it hinders a team from getting other players imo. A-Rod's contract will not stop the Yankees from signing anybody they want bad enough. A guy may chose not to sign with them, but the Yanks will have the money to offer a big deal. A-Rod's role will continue to shrink on that team as the year go by and in the next 3 years if he does nothing, then I can see the Yanks just releasing him with 2 years left in the deal.
