Anyone catch the end of DEN/GSW tonight?

Nuggs were down 3 and Iggy got intentionally fouled outside the three point line (so they'd have to bring the ball inbounds again) but managed to sell it as a shot attempt (even though it shouldn't have been).
He hit the first two, then absolutely bricked the third for the tie. Shot it way long, and the rebound got tapped out. Pretty ugly.
Nuggs had the inbounds and ****ed it up, then got another and got it to Iggy with 0.5 on the clock, and he brought the ball the whole way down then the whole way back up, drilling the three but missing the buzzer. So close but so dumb. Crazy ending for Iggy.

Also Coach Karl had a plaster right on his bald spot which was funny to me.

How do you guys feel about what's happening with the Spurs? I'm personally disgusted that Stern thinks he has the right to impose heavy sanctions on Popovich for resting his players.

It was their 4th road game in 5 nights. Pop's job isn't to entertain the fans. His job is to be a coach and win championships. He felt like resting his stars is the best thing for his team in the long run to give them the best chance to win a championship this year. There's no rule that says a coach can't bench his own players, so I don't see how Stern can legally penalize them for it. If you don't want this to happen, don't give them 4 road games in 5 nights.

This isn't like the NFL, which is a 16 game sprint where every game is so precious. It's a long season, an 82 game grind, a marathon. Managers rest their stars in baseball all the time, and people still buy tickets to go to the games. Do the teams get fined in those situations? Nope.

I think if Stern does impose heavy sanctions as he said he will, the Spurs should sue the league. How can you legally penalize a team for not breaking any rules? I guarantee if the Spurs were playing the Suns, or the Cavs, or the Bobcats, this wouldn't have an issue at all. And after all that, it ended up being a great game after all. **** you Stern.

Yeah, Stern's response was ********. Total ********. I don't think I've heard of one person not agreeing with that yet. It was awful.

Yh its complete ********. When teams are guaranteed a playoff spot and locked up a certain seeding with like a game or 2 left its ok. Even tho the game could affect other teams standing. Do it towards the end of a 5 game road trip and you fined.

Pop was being a dick on purpose, so Stern was a dick in response. I have no problem with either.

This. While we can all empathize with what Pop was thinking/doing. He had to have known better. He pushed the limit and got bit in the ***. Stern displayed some fake outrage that much of the media bought into a bit too much. But Pop got out of line, and it backfired while Stern laid the smack down.

None of this would have happened if it wasnt a tnt game.

Pops arrogance or sterns obnoxiousness be damned.

It still feels like there's no way LAL don't make the playoffs - but they're about to be 7-5 at home and 1-4 on the road. Do that for a season and you get 32 wins. It's just crazy. It isn't like they've been playing tough teams or anything.

I know they just need to gel and get used to the new coach and all that, I'm not actually saying they'll miss the playoffs, but damn they've been mediocre.

Part of the problem with that Laker front court, from what I can see, Superman ain't so super all of a sudden. He looks bigger, slower, and no where near the defensive presence he had been for the Magic all of those years.

The other part of the problem....and why I am waaaayyyyy more reluctant to trade for him than most of you guys....Gasol is past his prime.

But the big surprise to me is that Dwight is not dominating the defensive end of the floor by himself the way he did even last season. While a strong coach putting them in the proper roles is paramount....and for some of them are roles they aren't used to....the biggest problem preventing this team from making a deep playoff run might be that Dwight isn't as good right now as he was expected to be.

Wonder which is worse...

Them- star big man is playing but the struggling more?
