That article appears accurate in the sense of Dr. Buss's intentions on A SALE of the Lakers. However, selling the company doesn't have anything to do with who is the day to day manager and since Jeannie is the governor of the trust I would assume she has final VOTING rights on the day to day management of the Lakers... The trust can be set up to have different voting rules depending on the issue but I have never seen them split other than between ownership issues and management issues... pretty standard
In a nutshell, getting rid of Jimbaco is still pretty easy... it will just take a couple of his siblings turning on him and probably phil anshutz *****ing... If Jeannie alone has to vote him out it will be harder but if it is just a majority of the shareholders then it would be pretty easy.
Of course, if just one or two of the siblings think he is incompetent then they could file a suit, etc... as you point out if Jeannie doesn't do anything.
should be interesting
Very interesting article I found. Says that Dr. Buss's will states that the ownership of the Lakers among his children exists as a block, not as separate entities.
I might be misinterpreting this, so help me out. But could this affect things if Jeanie decides to go against Jimbaco in the future (like that one "insider" posted in the forums)? Basically, if I'm reading this correctly, the children can't use their individual stakes in the team to band together with minority owners.
I wonder how such a provision would withstand a legal challenge, though. Well, it is a class gift made through trust, that's probably more robust. But still, it would be fun to see the kids end up fighting over it in court!
What do you think?

Hey, so I responded to your post. Feel free to get back to me and apologize when you realize you were wrong.
havin fun banging them euro chicks over there?
Cool, enjoy your time in Europe. Look forward to chatting with you about this upcoming bball season. Your insight is always good. I expect "BIG" things from this team this year. Still cannot believe we were able to get Steve Nash, Dwight Howard, Antawn Jamison and Jodie Meeks in one offseason while only giving up Andrew Bynum! Great offseason.
What do you think about the Lakers getting Dwight Howard?
Go bait someone else. If you don't like a thread, don't post.
it's hard to argue against people when they're overcome with emotion, their points make no logical sense at all, to the point where they resort to claiming things that I never said
dont look now but wolves are over .500 and on a playoff spot.
