If we could somehow trade Big Al to Houston for a lot of their good complimentary players, that could be great. Houston has a ton of guys that can help us like Hayes, Budinger, Scola, Hill, Patterson, etc. Losing Al would sting, but adding a true center and more depth makes us a better team.
If we can't trade Al, then trading Deron is the ticket because nobody else is going to get us value to build around Deron. So instead of seeing a pissed off Deron the next season and a half. I'll post my latest trade idea to the idea thread.
If Melo on an expiring contract could have gotten Favors, two firsts, and maybe Devin Harris too, then I think we'd get a lot for Deron. If we made Deron available, I think we'd get 3 or 4 good players for him. We wouldn't get any 1 player as good as Deron, but we could be a better team if we added more to our starting unit and depth. And you've been talking about our depth all season because you know it's weak.
I'm out. Talk to you later
We've take the path of least resistance and haven't made a major midseason move in forever. Deron is unhappy. The fans are unhappy. If we want to make both happy again, we have to shake it up. Our only big assets are Deron, Millsap and Al. If we're trying to make Deron happy, we have to trade Al or Millsap. Since the fans love Millsap and he makes half as much as Al, we trade Al. But then again, a ton of guys on here are against that big time too.
We have to give up something in order to gain something. I truly think that Deron gets traded before the deadline. Just something tells me it's going to happen. That NY Daily News story broke this morning. If more stuff like that comes out and we keep losing before the break and Deron grows more frustrated, KOC will pull the trigger. Especially if Karl Malone and former Jazzmen are on his ***.
Sidenote: this whole Deron power struggle mess isn't fair to Ty Corbin. If Deron was truly given more power than Sloan, Corbin is nothing but a puppet. I don't want a coach who has to be in that situation and I think Corbin has a ton of potential.
I think the only chance we have of keeping Deron is to blow him away by a big trade to put people around him. That's why I pushed so much to trade Al because he's the only guy we have who could get us great new players to put around Deron.
I like the trade, but Indy is committed to Granger and won't trade him for AK, Tony Allen and a pick. If they got Big Al, maybe they give up Granger.
fair enough. My bad.
idk wat u just said. I went into the jazz forum looking for clues where Markus had gone cause he was off for 2 days. Then I read ur little battle with bucs and decided to make some tags.
