I would certainly buy it more if Idaho or Texas was making movements into that type of breakdown for their electoral votes. I wish I had a solution to gerrymandering but I just don't. One rule that I might consider putting into place is that districts may have no more than X number of sides to them (meaning you couldn't have a district that looks like Italy or worse almost completely circles a city.
