What gig? And access to what? lol. If you're talking about the SSAC, it's a conference and I just bought a ticket lol. Anyone can. It is mad expensive though, luckily my school is funding it (since I'm in grad school). Admittedly, I probably wouldn't have met Hollinger (and others) if I wasn't working for an advanced (not really advanced) stats site. PM me if you're curious since I prolly can't explain in a VM (too long).
Oh I definitely don't use it for PSD lol. Well I mean I'm following some fellow PSDers on there but yeah, I think the PSD general intelligence is like 100x lower than the people I talk to on twitter lol.
It went really well. I enjoyed it. It's like a place for all the analytics geeks to talk but with guys like the commish there (Adam Silver panel was popular). I did get to meet all the internet celebrities you've never heard of, as opposed to the actual celebrities that were there lol (Hollinger for example, ok you may have heard of him). Made some connections with people who work in the NBA (Analytics department). Also, there were some interesting panels- like the Silver one, the one with Stan Van Gundy was great- just to get to hear him talk. Overall great experience.
What's your twitter yo? lol, I've been using it more recently. Well a lot more. And I've found there's some better basketball conversation then in the NBA forums here (not hard to imagine). It's also a good way to network apparently, or so I've learned.
