I wonder if Lewis Black shows up when he is bored or if he has a set number of shows he has to do in a year. It is always good, but it is quite infrequent.
Pfft...our own rules...the "Constitution"...who are we and it to tell us how to do things...
We definitely don't discriminate when we rape and piliage (sp) a people. At least we are Equal Opportuinists.
I actually yelled at a cop today. They we directing traffic, although I don't know why all the lights were working, and he skipped my lane for six cycles of the light. I got out of the car and gave him a piece of my mind. He decided to let us go after that.
I have been wondering if OpenCongress (and by extension OpenGovernment) knew this Wisconsin stuff was going to go down when they put Wisconsin on their list of 5 state governments to release info about.
Even that completely ignores the idea of privatizing prisons which is horribly warped. In Arizona that happens in particular.
Definition of slave labor i believe.
The Democratic governors are cutting harder than the Republicans but they arent going after the rights to bargain and that is why they are more successful at it. I saw Granholm on CNBC a while back and she said she cut Union benefits much sharper than Walker is talking and made them pay more in than Walker is, but she worked with the Unions and successfully made the deals to make it work. For being a sharp believer in the free market, people like Walker sure dont believe in collective success (one of the basic economic assumptions is that trade is a win-win scenario and not a zero-sum game).
If it were just the financial parts then i would probably be on the Governor's side but this isnt about the finance, since the Unions have agreed to their requests. The budget is unbalanced, ok we can fix that. But if they see you giving tax cuts to millionaires then they shouldnt agree to have the teacher's pockets.
I have said it numerous times but Minnesota's governor raised a surcharge of a couple of percentage points on millionaires and cut his deficit in half. Interestingly it would have eliminated the Wisconsin budget deficit. Obviously tax raises arent the only solution but it would get them through the bump while the two sides can come together and actually solve the problem instead of playing Russian Roulette with people's lives.
I put that on Twitter. My comment with it was:
"Too true, how dare he let those scurvy dogs pretend they are people. No money, no rights!"
