I actually ran the redraft last year, which was also the first one I did in like 5 years, and I scrapped special teams and made it 14 players on O and D, which is better than nothing. The Big Mo trade was actually w/ the Ravens who needed to clear cap and also loves Gilmore. I also think this Jets new GM is smarter than drafting Mariota at 6.
That defense is going to be vicious, I think they should be willing to throw Geno into the fire and learn to play with the comfort of an elite defense. Even in win-now mode, I like my odds better to win a SB with a Geno Smith developing through the season and peaking in the playoffs than a guy like Fitzpatrick, and I think you can get the same Fitzpatrick late in the season and in the playoffs whether off the bench or the season long starter. Could Fitz be a Dilfer or even Brad Johnson, yea maybe, but it takes a lot to win a SB with that type of QB, especially in today's football. Like you said, if its at all close, go Geno.
I don't think anyone in the mock watched the Jets, because I had literally 0 inquiries into Davis the entire mock (and he has an extremely low salary). I got Kam, Michael Bennet, and Jonathan Joseph for Mo and Stephon Gilmore. The first snowballed into a lot more than it was worth too. What I like about the mock vs the redraft is 53 roster slots. I hate that superficial 11 starters on each side makes a team thing.
I don't think they'll start Fitz, I just think Bowles learned the hard way the value of a backup QB last year. I think they should start Geno even if they draft Mariota. I just feel like a lot of Geno's issues can be corrected if he trusts the players around him, and I think he has every right not to trust those around him last year. He obviously has the skillset. Just need consistency and I think you can get that with more consistency in his protection, run game, and receivers. I like Gailey working with him too, he adapts well to what he has to work with IMO
Valid point. I actually didn't want Brees. I played the game for the game as a kid and won plenty, now when I do this I just like building teams I like for me instead of trying to appease people lacking in football IQ... more enjoyable that way. Brees or any other big QB would've compromised the integrity of the rest of the roster. I would rather put a great team around a QB. I wouldn't change much about my team really, love the OL, the skill positions, the defense, believe in Geno. Massively improved everywhere and very young. Now I just need the Jets IRL to keep improving their OL and let Geno grow and make my team look amazing lol
I knew Norm wouldn't respond, but thanks for providing some valid logic to my matchup. I wouldn't have cared if you were defending Denver, I just hate such superficial 'reasoning' if you can even consider anything presented in favor of Denver as that.

Make sure you post your trades in your clubhouse.
I can hear the fear in NYSPORTS posts about Vick and Chip lol.
I think that team is going to shock the world on O, I've said it for a while. The issue is the D.
Luck will be a top 6 QB after the year. I've said it since b4 he was drafted. I will feel like a genius if ppl end up agreeing.
Bc he's a douche?
Kaepernick is a faster running QB and more efficient effective and natural. But don't tell Redskins fans. RGIII was good at the 400M. He's the next barry Sanders
