After the All-time NFL RD ends, may I run a 16-team RD in Wolves forum? Got interest and that would have it get going around the end of playoffs. Would be a good warm up for NBA RD. Ran it last year and it went very smooth

It's typically done, but it's not always the case.

That's why a laid out structure (IMO) for punishment would be beneficial. Posters know the time for the crime, and the mods don't have to guess how long a punishment should be. It would eliminate the perception of favoritism, and it would also help bring consistency to punishment that currently doesn't exist.

You can have a set structure that takes history into account. Say I get banned for racism, and say that it is my first ban. Hypothetically, let's say that's a 1 month ban. What would be so hard about saying "a repeat ban for the same offense yields an automatic doubling in length of the previous ban"?

You then have the opportunity to eliminate permabans (say someone is racist 8 times...that's something like a total of a 4 year ban). You have an explicit punishment structure. You then avoid all of the criticism of consistency that is apparently annoying to the owners/administrators/moderators. Simply outlining a rule/punishment structure takes pressure off of you guys .

I was just wondering when a user's history is actually not taken into account? We've kind of discussed this before with my infractions from two years+ being used as a reason for a poor history. But, are you guys just going to refer to them forever? Eight years down the road, if I still post here, will you guys refer to my infractions from four years ago when you hand out punishment?

It'd be really cool if you guys would drop them off at some point. I also think permabanned users should be allowed back at some point. People mature.

I'm far from asking for all of (or even the majority) of my wants to be addressed. I'm also far from alone in sharing the views I share (as I'm sure is the case with opposing views).

While threads with the tone I took in that most recent thread aren't inherently constructive, I don't really care to PM with issues that are site-specific (i.e. not having an issue with a user in particular/a general inquiry that only concerns me). As has been something I've sought, transparency is greatly lacking on PSD. Having, or at least hoping to have, discourse in F&S allows others to enter the discussion. Bringing an issue such as one regarding content to you (or Wrigs or whoever) doesn't open up that issue to the rest of PSD.
