I know that the organization generally tends to be a bit frugal with their spending on players but is it due to the salary cap or just ownership not wanting to spend money in general?
There can be many reasons for this, but ultimately, it comes down to how much money the team has to spend... under the cap.
Also, I am curious on how next year will affect the Giant's spending. They are a New York team so consequently this probably will give us a huge advantage over other teams financially, but just how much since it may only be for this one year? Thanks
Well, IF that happens, I don't think the spending will change much. It depends on how deep the owners wallet is at that point. Last time I checked, the Giants were the 4th richest team in the NFL (Cowboys, Redskins and Patriots are the top three in that order). That statistic is based on Forbes, 2008.
